Our SeaScape history
.... in a small nutshell
It was back in 1991 in the Greek islands that our Adventure Sailing "shareboat" concept first began - from very modest beginnings with 35' rented boats, to the SeaScape family today of our own 49-55' yachts. We made the lovely little island of Leros home - our base to explore further!
Having become very much part of the family in the Dodecanese islands, it was time to pop over and say hello to our next-door neighbours in Turkey. Here we met some wonderfully friendly locals who made us right at home there too! We discovered verdant pine forests, scattered with ruins dating back to BC times - a hidden treasure trove of stunning anchorages and fascinating culture and history.
We spent several years exploring and refining our itineraries; finding new little gems, always staying one step ahead of ever-encroaching mass tourism. We now offer routes which are all-Greece, all-Turkey, and the most popular - our Greece-and-Turkey "combo" ; a chance to experience both cultures in one trip!
...And so further onwards
It was thanks to our "SeaScape Alumni" that we expanded to our next destination. "We had so much fun on your shareboat trips", they told us. "But where next??" So we set out to explore some winter options... Australia, Seychelles, Tonga, the Caribbean - and the one which turned out to be the top favourite - Thailand!
In tropical Thailand, we discovered a perfect mix. Enough little, undeveloped islands to satisfy our "go-where-others-don't" philosophy.... but still plenty fun & lively nightlife, shopping, massages, etc, for a little decadent contrast at times! Simply stunning scenery - from gravity-defying James Bond islands to deserted, white-sand-and-palm-tree beaches. The ever-smiling Thai people, with their gentle, Buddhist culture; and of course - the FOOD !!! Tongue-tinglingly fresh and healthy, it has to be tasted to be believed...
So in 2006, we decided it was time to establish a full-season base in Phuket. With our new 55' catamaran, we can offer our SeaScape Shareboat concept year-round. In addition, we can customise private trips for smaller groups, or for keen scuba fans, organise a more dive-focused trip.
