Where we sail in Greece

"Dodecanese" means "Twelve Islands" - although there does seem to be some dispute on whether there are actually 10, 12 or 20! They are a very diverse and idiosyncratic group of islands; each one with an entirely different character to the next. From the well-developed islands of Rhodes and Kos; to the famous monastery island of Patmos (where St John wrote the Book of Revelations); to tiny islets, still only accessible by small boat.

They are situated in the eastern Aegean - a 50 minute plane ride away from Athens. Or ferry ride, for those with a little more time (and an adventurous spirit!). Being somewhat off the beaten track, the smaller islands have not - yet - lost their unique ambiance; the traditional Greek spontaneity, sense of fun, and community spirit still live on here.

Opposite is a map of these islands, our SeaScape home base - click on the island/anchorage names to see more details!
