Kekova Girisi
This large inlet is made up of a myriad of little coves, bays, tiny islands; totally protected at the entrance by Kekova Adasi (adasi=island), creating a calm, idyllic bay.

The locals live scattered amidst ancient ruins of fortresses, bathhouses, and the sunken remains of a Lycian city (4th century BC). One of our local taverna-owner friends has a little boat, which can take you up into the shallow waters near ancient Myra, and you can wander around the most incredibly intact amphitheatre. (Or just snorkel around rocks and ruins only a few yards from where the boat is moored!)

It's the most incredible feeling to anchor right in the middle of all these ancient vestiges of civilisations from thousands of years ago. The locals are so used to it, they scarcely notice; for us, more used to seeing such things in guarded museums only - it's a thought-provoking experience.
